  • The newly appointed government plans to increase PCR testing capacities against Covid-19. The cabinet will start looking at new methods of testing because of the new omicron variant.


  • 60,170 people started businesses in the Czech Republic during the first eleven months of this year, which is 2,811 more thanin the same period last year and also the highest figure in the past five years.


  • According to the latest data from the Czech Statistical Office (CZSO), at the end of 2020, the number of foreigners employed in the Czech Republic reached nearly 750,000.


  • The newly appointed Minister of Health, Vlastimil Válek, has called on Czechs to limit their contacts and to “refrain from excessive partying” during the holiday season to minimize the spread of Covid-19.


  • Czech researchers have developed a biochip that is as fast as an antigen test and reliable as a PCR, the news site reported. The advantage of biochips is that they can be used repeatedly until the first positive result.
