National Cancer Centre opens at Motol Hospital
A national cancer centre was officially opened on Wednesday at Prague’s Motol and Homolka University Hospital at a cost of 4.96 billion Czech crowns. Most of the funding came from EU grants under the Czech National Recovery Plan. Once fully operational, the centre will increase the hospital’s capacity for cancer care by 40 percent.

Radio Q, Czechia’s first LGBTQ+ radio station, goes on air
Radio Q, the Czech Republic’s first radio station aimed at the LGBTQ+ community, began broadcasting on Wednesday, September 9. It is currently available online and is funded through grants, foundation contributions and donations. The station is available, among other platforms, via Myonlineradio.

Tram disruptions in central Prague due to track repairs
Tram services have been suspended across part of central Prague as the city's public transport operator (DPP) carries out track repairs in Spálená and Národní streets and on Vítězná Street near Újezd. The disruption affects the section between the Újezd and Lazarská stops. No replacement bus service has been introduced. The works are scheduled to continue until Monday, August 10.
