Seven injured in train-vehicle collision near Prostějov

Seven people were injured when a train collided with a municipal services vehicle at a level crossing between Kostelec na Hané and Prostějov on Wednesday afternoon. Three people suffered moderate injuries, mostly fractures, and were taken to Olomouc University Hospital.

Czechia plans tighter tracking of Russian diplomats

The Czech Foreign Ministry and intelligence services are preparing changes to the system for notifying authorities about Russian diplomats’ movements in Europe, Foreign Minister Petr Macinka said on Wednesday. The move comes in the wake of Germany’s claim that Russia is to blame for an August security incident at Leipzig/Halle Airport.

Tram disruptions in central Prague due to track repairs

Tram services have been suspended across part of central Prague as the city's public transport operator (DPP) carries out track repairs in Spálená and Národní streets and on Vítězná Street near Újezd. The disruption affects the section between the Újezd and Lazarská stops. No replacement bus service has been introduced. The works are scheduled to continue until Monday, August 10.
