Italian PM Giorgia Meloni to visit Czech Republic

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is due to visit the Czech Republic on September 29. Meloni and her Czech counterpart Andrej Babiš (ANO) are expected to sign an agreement strengthening cooperation between the two countries in several areas. It will be their first meeting on Czech soil.

Government approves pension increases for next year

The government has agreed to increase pensions from January, with the average monthly pension set to rise by CZK 304. It has also approved a one-off payment of CZK 2,000 for pensioners, Labour and Social Affairs Minister Aleš Juchelka (ANO) said after Monday’s cabinet meeting.

Tram disruptions in central Prague due to track repairs

Tram services have been suspended across part of central Prague as the city's public transport operator (DPP) carries out track repairs in Spálená and Národní streets and on Vítězná Street near Újezd. The disruption affects the section between the Újezd and Lazarská stops. No replacement bus service has been introduced. The works are scheduled to continue until Monday, August 10.
