Czech unemployment falls to 4.8% in May

The unemployment rate in the Czech Republic fell by 0.1 percentage points to 4.8 percent in May, driven by seasonal work and continued economic recovery, according to the Czech Labour Office. Labour offices registered 358,852 job seekers, down 5,620 from April. The number of available vacancies declined slightly month-on-month by 103 to 94,380.

Macinka would like to complete embassy move to Jerusalem

Czech Foreign Minister Petr Macinka (Motorists) said he would like to complete the relocation of the Czech embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem by the end of his term in office. He told journalists this after a meeting with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar at Prague’s Černín Palace.

A new large-scale medical facility in Krč.

A new large-scale medical facility is planned in Prague near Thomayer Hospital in Krč. The clinic will cover roughly 14,000 square metres and form part of the Nová Krč mixed-use development next to the future Nemocnice Krč D metro station. Construction is expected to begin in the second half of 2027.
