Average Czech monthly wage rises 6.4 percent to CZK 51,966
The average monthly wage in Czechia rose by 6.4 percent year-on-year to CZK 51,966 in the second quarter of this year, according to data released by the Czech Statistics Office on Thursday. Employees earned an average of CZK 3,105 more than in the same period last year. Adjusted for two-percent inflation, wages increased by 4.3 percent in real terms.

Fire breaks out at new Oncology Centre in Prague’s Motol Hospital
Prague firefighters were called to a fire at the exterior cladding of a new Oncology Centre at Motol University Hospital on Thursday evening. A second-level fire alert was declared due to the number of units deployed. Around 20 people, most of them patients, were evacuated. No one was reported injured. The hospital estimates the damage at around 30 million crowns.

Tram disruptions in central Prague due to track repairs
Tram services have been suspended across part of central Prague as the city's public transport operator (DPP) carries out track repairs in Spálená and Národní streets and on Vítězná Street near Újezd. The disruption affects the section between the Újezd and Lazarská stops. No replacement bus service has been introduced. The works are scheduled to continue until Monday, August 10.
