Costa to visit Prague on Thursday as part of Tour des Capitales
European Council President António Costa will begin a four-week tour of EU capitals on Tuesday, with the 2028-2034 EU budget expected to be the main focus. He will meet Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš in Prague on Thursday. Costa will also discuss defence, competitiveness, EU enlargement and support for Ukraine.

Czech minimum wage to rise by CZK 2,500 next year
The Czech minimum monthly wage will rise by CZK 2,500 to CZK 24,900 (approximately €1,000) gross per month from January, following an agreement between the government, unions and employers. It will equal 44.6 percent of the average wage.

Tram disruptions in central Prague due to track repairs
Tram services have been suspended across part of central Prague as the city's public transport operator (DPP) carries out track repairs in Spálená and Národní streets and on Vítězná Street near Újezd. The disruption affects the section between the Újezd and Lazarská stops. No replacement bus service has been introduced. The works are scheduled to continue until Monday, August 10.
