Prague applies for building permit for Vltava Philharmonic
Prague has applied for a building permit for the planned Vltava Philharmonic concert hall, the project spokesperson said on Monday. The city expects to receive the permit in the first quarter of next year, with construction planned to begin in 2028. The concert hall is expected to cost around CZK 12.3 billion, excluding VAT, with another CZK 5 billion needed for improvements to the surrounding area.

Govt approves pay transparency, platform work bills
The Czech government on Monday approved an amendment to the Labour Code introducing EU pay transparency rules and a bill regulating platform work. Under the new pay rules, unjustified gender pay gaps of five percent or more will have to be corrected within six months. Job applicants will also have to be informed about pay and bonuses before signing a contract.

Tram disruptions in central Prague due to track repairs
Tram services have been suspended across part of central Prague as the city's public transport operator (DPP) carries out track repairs in Spálená and Národní streets and on Vítězná Street near Újezd. The disruption affects the section between the Újezd and Lazarská stops. No replacement bus service has been introduced. The works are scheduled to continue until Monday, August 10.
