September 19: Prague International Indie Film Festival

Filmmakers from all around the world get together in the city for a special day for the award ceremony.

Prague International Indie Film Festival is an event with an annual gala, screening and award ceremony in Edison Filmhub, home of indie filmmakers located in the center of Prague.

New talents from the industry already confirmed attendance at the Festival that is gonna happen in one of the newest theater in Prague, the Edison Filmhub.

Mixing established directors such as Yorgos Lanthimos (NIMIC – Out-of-competition exhibition) and new talents, as FAMU student Oscar-winner Daria Kashcheeva (DAUGHTER – Q&A Confirmed), the festival tends to remain among the most highly rated in Europe.

Organized by Mariano Cabaco and Luma Oquendo, film partners and formers PFS students in Prague, both fell in love with the city and decided that they would dedicate themselves to make a Festival among the best in the country when it comes to networking.

Introducing young directors and students to established contacts based in Prague or in other cities around the world can be the kick-off for highly successful partnerships.

“We decided to invest in this festival in Prague because it is a city we love plus centrally located in Europe. We can combine our passion for films and helping young filmmakers to find partners for new productions” explains Luma Oquendo, the Festival Manager.

The Prague International Indie Film Festival is a quarterly festival, where booth Winners and Honorable Mentions can be nominated to win an Award in the Annual Event in Prague.

FESTIVAL DAY PROGRAM

  • 9 am: Welcome and Registration
  • 9.45 am – 12.30 pm: First Screening block followed by Q&A
  • 1.30 pm – 4 pm: Second Screening block followed by Q&A
  • 5 pm – 6 pm: Czech Film Schools’ Screening Session
  • 7 pm: Red Carpet, Photo Call (Black tie, Tuxedo or Special Attire for men and Cocktail Dress for women highly recommended)
  • 7.30 pm – 8.45 pm: Networking, Champagne and Canape Tray Cocktail
  • 8.45 pm: Award Ceremony
