  • The Czech Embassy in Ankara has not registered any Czech so far among the victims of Monday’s devastating earthquake. According to the Czech Ambassador to Turkey Pavel Vacek, there is currently one Czech woman unaccounted for in Adiyaman province, where a team of Czech rescuers is now deployed.

 

  • Czechia was back on Germany’s list of top ten trading partners in 2022 after a one-year absence, the Czech-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced on Tuesday. The volume of bilateral trade increased by 16.5 percent year-on-year to 113 billion euros, which is the highest figure in history.

 

  • The tank, dubbed ‘Tomas’, bought with money from Czech donors to the “Gift for Putin” campaign, has already been deployed in fighting against the Russian troops in Ukraine, said campaign co-founder Martin Ondracek in an interview with CTK.

 

  • Construction production in the Czech Republic increased by 1.9 percent year-on-year last year, compared to a 2.4 percent increase a year earlier. The growth was helped by higher output in both civil and structural engineering.

 

  • Renowned Czech graphic artist and illustrator Květa Pacovská died on Tuesday at the age of 94. Pacovská’s work encompasses many different forms, from paintings, sculptures and spatial objects, to drawings and installations.
