Have a Rendezvous in Kampa! 15th Annual French Market Will Take Place on July 12-17

The festival will offer delicacies, selected wines and sparkling drinks from France, as well as a rich accompanying program full of music and family entertainment

The annual French Market will return to Prague’s Kampa again this year. The festival will take place from 12 to 17 July, and visitors can look forward to selected French culinary delicacies, excellent sparkling wines, musical performances and a rich accompanying program for young visitors.

The ambassador for this year’s festival is well-known Brno chef Tomáš Reger, who will pair French specialties with famous Veuve Clicquot champagne.

A range of well-known exhibitors will be present, including Le marché delicatessen, Fransyr, champagne house Veuve Clicquot, Nostress bakery, Klobaskarna and many others. Fans of French cuisine will enjoy favourites such as Burgundy snails, fresh oysters and mussels, French cheeses and cured sausages, fried foie gras, duck delicacies, frogs legs, French cakes, and Crémant sparkling wines.

“This year will see the French Market in Kampa held for the fifteenth time, making it one of the oldest gastronomic festivals in Prague. It’s been a delight to watch the markets become so popular over the years, and not only among Prague residents. Visitors come here to soak up some of that special French atmosphere, taste the specialties of French cuisine, and refresh themselves with a glass of rosé – but they’re also looking for moments of peace and togetherness with their loved ones,” says Thomas Bouton, the organizer of the French Market.

Among the exhibitors at this year’s jubilee edition will be Tomáš Reger, the popular Brno chef and co-owner of the Element restaurant, who will prepare unique dishes paired with bubbles from the famous champagne house Veuve Clicqout to tickle the taste buds of market visitors.

There will also be a rich accompanying musical program, including performances from Czech singer Markéta Poulíčková. Bands such as futur Swing, the duo Hot Sisters, Charlie and the Chocolate and more will perform.

Saturday closing program will feature tones of classical music performed by Klarovo Kvarteto. The relaxed atmosphere will be enhanced by a program for children prepared every morning from Wednesday to Saturday.
