British comedian Ricky Gervais will be live in Prague at the Congress Center on March 4, 2023.
Ricky Gervais will visit Prague with a new stand-up show called Armageddon.
The outspoken comedian has been doing warm-up dates in London and the provinces in recent months. Fans who have seen the work-in-progress shows have been tweeting that this could be his most outrageous, controversial, taboo-busting show yet.
Gervais was previously on the receiving end of criticism for anti-woke jokes in his last show Supernature, but the show was still a massive hit on Netflix.
Tickets priced from CZK 1,390 will be on sale from this Friday on Ticketmaster.
Gervais has become one of the most popular and omnipresent comedy performers of the 21st century, hosting the Golden Globe awards, lending his talent to films, becoming a voice artist and appearing on numerous talk shows. He has become one of the best-known British comedy figures in America.
He is also regularly the subject of controversy due to his dark comedy. Some critics have called him insensitive and outrageous.
Ricky became a huge star in the US after his 2005 series Extras proved a massive hit. The Emmy-winning show, which was written and directed by Ricky and Steven, centred around a character called Andy, a struggling gaff-prone actor who mainly did background work.
Success at the Golden Globes helped the British creative secure a host of Hollywood stars for guest appearances on the series, including Ben Stiller, Kate Winslet and Samuel L Jackson in series one, and Orlando Bloom, Robert De Niro and David Bowie in series two.
Success may have come late in life for Ricky – he was 40 when The Office first aired in the UK – but when it did arrive, it was in a big way.
Numerous TV and film triumphs apart, Ricky”s achievements also include being a 2006 world record holder, after his podcast The Ricky Gervais Show became the world”s most downloaded.
He has also enjoyed considerable success in standup comedy with his UK tours Animals, Politics and Fame.
