Boris Johnson has been discharged from St Thomas’ Hospital after recovering from COVID-19.
The Prime Minister took to Twitter to thank the NHS staff that provided him with care and support.
It is hard to find the words to express my debt to the NHS for saving my life.
The efforts of millions of people across this country to stay home are worth it. Together we will overcome this challenge, as we have overcome so many challenges in the past. #StayHomeSaveLives pic.twitter.com/HK7Ch8BMB5

“On the advice of his medical team, the PM will not be immediately returning to work,” the statement said. “He wishes to thank everybody at St. Thomas’ for the brilliant care he has received.”
Prime Minister Johnson’s pregnant fiancé also sent her appreciations and said she would “never, ever be able to repay” the NHS staff who treated Mr Johnson.
Britain has reported two days in a row of hospital deaths increasing by more than 900 people. Friday’s death toll of 980 surpassed the highest recorded in a single day in Italy, the hardest-hit country in Europe so far.
