What’s On in Prague This Week

Christmas is over and Prague is preparing for the New Year’s celebration. In the meantime, you can do something for your body and lose some Christmas pounds as this week is Prague’s sport week. So start moving and have a joyful 2020.

December 25 – December 31
A week of sport for free (“Praha sportovní”)
You have the greatest chance to try various sports at different sport centres around Prague for free. Spinning, squash, climbing, fitness, yoga, swimming and much more
Check their website and find the nearest sports centre in your neighbourhood.

December 27
Prague fest
Last big (not only) students’ party of this year at Rock Café.
When: Starts at 9 p.m.
Entrance fee: 200 CZK

December 29
First and the last Degustation menu in Výčep this year.
Czech cuisine with a modern twist and great drafted beer from Dalešice. If you are a food freak, you should not miss it.
When: Starting at 6 p.m., reservation needed. 1250 CZK per person
Where: Korunní 92, Prague 2

December 31
New Year’s celebration at Old Town Square
When: Starts at 4:45 pm

January 1
New Year’s video mapping instead of the official Prague’s firework
When: 6:15, 7:15 and 8:15 p.m., duration 10 min
Where: Wenceslas square – National museum
Free

January 1
New Year’s firework made by Prague 2 in Bastion – close to Vyšehrad
When: starts at 6 p.m., it will take about 12 minutes
Where: The best viewpoint – Vyšehrad, in front of the Congress centre, close to Nusle Bridge
