Prymula: “I Will Suggest Introducing a New State of Emergency”

UPDATE: Prime Minister Andrej Babiš announced that the government will approve the declaration of a state of emergency on Wednesday, September 30.

The Minister of Health Roman Prymula (ANO) will suggest introducing a new state of emergency at the next government meeting, according to news server Respekt.cz.

The next meeting will take place on Monday, October 5th. emergency. The state of emergency is declared by the government and requires the approval of the Chamber of Deputies.

The Minister of the Interior Jan Hamáček (CSSD) said on Sunday that the declaration of a state of emergency would need to be considered only in the event of a medical outage.

The state of emergency in the Czech Republic expired on May 17, 2020.

Czech Republic reports 1,305 new daily coronavirus cases

The Czech Republic reported 1,305 new cases of coronavirus on Sunday and 15 related deaths, health ministry data showed on Monday, as the country battles one of the highest recent infection rates in the world.

The number of new cases was below Saturday’s 1,985 infection count, but above 985 cases the Saturday before.

The figures brought the total number of cases to 64,597 and deaths to 606 in the country of 10.7 million people. There were 32,723 active cases.

Prague is the hardest-hit region in the country with a virus reproduction rate of 1.8.
