Penta plans to build a new residential development on a brownfield site of almost 32,000 sq. m in Prague Nusle. The total investment should reach CZK 2 billion.
Penta wants to use the former brewery site for a residential development, which should offer up to 400 apartments.
The listed 17th-century brewery building will house office and retail space and when complete will give the area a completely new appearance, helping return it to its historic roots as a centrepoint of Nusle. Initial design studies feature a town square with cafés and restaurants and renewal of a street which used to cross the site.
“We found the biggest opportunities in Prague were in brownfields,” said Petr Palicka, Penta’s managing director. “It is difficult to find an empty site in Prague or a city like it.”
Probably by the end of the year, Penta should obtain the building permit. The reconstruction work will take about two years.
