SAMPA THE GREAT TO SHINE AT METRONOME PRAGUE
Sampa The Great is a complex artist that perfectly fits today’s environment. Sampa The Great knows her musical history and the current scene, taking the best from both for her own work and creating a singular amalgam that includes elements of hip hop, pop, jazz, gospel, and soul. Although she cites progressive artists like Mos Def and Kendrick Lamar as her influences, a review of one of her first recordings in The Guardian noticed the similarities between Sampa The Great and Lauryn Hill.
