Tram 42 will become a mainstay throughout the year. This was stated by PCT spokeswoman Klára Malá.

From 1 July 2021, two new historic tram lines – numbers 42 and 43 – have been in operation in Prague. Their routes have been planned to connect the most popular tourist destinations around the city center and to operate on the principle of hop-on, hop-off.

Prague officials have today announced that the sightseeing tourist tram 42, will run in the metropolis all year round even after the end of the In Prague at Home program.

“Visitors to Prague made extensive use of the historic center sightseeing tour. They could, for example, jump out at the Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, or the Powder Gate, look at the sights and then continue theirs visit. That is why we want to keep tourist line 42 for visitors even after the summer season,” said City Councilor Hana Třeštíková (Praha Sobě),

“With the tram number 42, we offer tourists an alternative to hop-on, hop-off buses, which is environmentally friendly and at the same time helps to free up traffic on the roads in the congested city center. I believe that, as in other cities, it will become more and more popular,” added Deputy Mayor for Transport Adam Scheinherr (Praha Sobě).

Tram number 42 has already covered approximately 7,000 kilometers and carried 9,500 visitors.
