Prague Police are looking for additional victims of a 26-years-old taxi driver accused of raping at least three women since January 2020, after they hailed a ride home, authorities said.
According to the police, he chose drunken women and took them to remote places. There, he forcefully sexually assaulted the women.
“They were, by virtue of their drunkenness, particularly vulnerable. Their incapacity made them no less deserving than anyone else of being safe. They each sought the security and safety they were entitled to expect from a Prague taxi,” said Jan Daněk, spokesman for the Prague police.
Police officers have caught the man who is actually in custody for rape. He can face up to ten years in jail.
Officers believe the man may have preyed on more women and urged potential victims to come forward.
“We believe that these three cases now under investigation may not be the only ones and there are more victims,” added Jan Daněk.
