What’s On in Prague This Week

2020 is off and running and we have another busy week ahead of us. This one is perfect for entertainment and my tips will come handy to all culture & cinema lovers as this week is packed with movie festivals.

 

January 18

Czech Street Con winter pop-up
Do you need a new pair of sneakers or a cool t-shirt? Then visit this streetwear market in Divadlo X10 this Saturday.
Connected entertainment program with tombola and shows The-O and Forgena.

January 15 – January 19
”Iránci” 2020 Prague
Iranian film festival – the festival is focused on the best works of Iranian cinema.
Where: Bio Oko, Světozor, Screenshot (all movies only with English subtitles)

January 17 – January 18
Celebration of the Chinese New Year 2020
You can look forward to traditional Chinese crafts – such as Shu embroidery, bamboo weaving, sugar painting, calligraphy, ink painting, martial art demonstrations, music, and folk performances, costume shows and taste the Sze Chuan food.

When: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.

January 22 – January 26
15th Prague Short film festival
You can see the best and most inspiring short movies from all over the world. All films with English subtitles
Where: Kino Světozor, Kino Pilotů

An interactive exhibition for the whole family about the film making industry

January 23
”Vinohradská zabijačka”
Pork Feast outside of the Vinohradský Parlament restaurant
Where: Korunní 1, Prague 2

January 25
”Letenský Masopust” and “Letenské prase”
Carnival celebration with a costume parade and pork specialities degustation.
Where: Strossmayer square and National Agriculture Museum
When: starts at 11 a.m.

till January 20
DOX gallery – Last days of Exhibition “Spolu” (“Together”). Author: Veronika Psotková
Where: Dox – Centre for contemporary art – Poupětova 1
When: Jan 16 at 6 p.m.
