From tomorrow, September 9th, 2020, facemasks will be mandatory again in certain public spaces. Health Minister Adam Vojtech announced last week a number of major changes. We provide an overview of the regulations that come into effect from tomorrow:
Main changes:
- Bars and clubs in Prague will have to close from midnight to 6 am
- Face masks will be mandatory in shops and malls
- Face masks will be mandatory at the post office
- Citizens need to cover their mouth and nose in all interior spaces at railway stations and at Prague Airport
Face masks will be obligatory:
- On all public transport
- In health and social services facilities, including pharmacies
- At indoor events where there are more than 100 people
- At public administration offices and institutions
- In polling stations
Main exceptions:
- Children under the age of two
- People with mental disabilities
- Athletes during training, matches, or competitions
- Patients hospitalized in inpatient health care facilities, if necessary for the provision of health services
- Drivers of public transport, if they do not come into direct contact with passengers
- Spouses during the marriage or registered partnership ceremonies, and others present at the official declaration
- Residents and guests of spa facilities
Further measures:
- Maximum 1,000 people at outdoor events (with a maximum of five separate sectors each at that limit)
- A maximum of 500 participants at indoor events (with a maximum of five separate sectors each at that limit)
