  • Czech foreign minister Jakub Kulhanek has condemned the Myanmar court’s verdict sentencing Aung San Suu Kyi to four years in prison. “This is another blow to democracy in Myanmar,” he said.


  • Pakistani customs officers are filing an appeal against the release of Czech model Tereza Hlůšková, who was acquitted by the Lahore court in November of charges of heroin smuggling.


  • Czech shopping malls and retailers offered over 30 locations for vaccination against Covid-19. There are currently five vaccination centers in operation in shopping centers, in Prague (Westfield Chodov and OC Černý Most), in Brno (Olympia), Ostrava (Forum Nová Karolina) and in Karlovy Vary (OC Varyada).


  • “Dozens of kilometres of motorways a year should be built in the Czech Republic in the years to come”, the candidate for transport minister in the new government, Martin Kupka, told reporters on Monday. His priorities are the preparation and construction of high-speed railways and their connection to the European network.


  • Rohlik.cz together with energy company E.ON is building its own network of charging stations. By 2022, the company plan to build 400 charging stations in Prague and Brno near its warehouses. The online supermarket also plans to have a fully electric company fleet by 2025.
