Anyone can use these ‘Rekola‘ bicycles, you just have to download the application and pay a fee.

This year the bikes have a new design and you are now able to rent the bike just once if you would like. It is the fifth year that these bikes have been available in Prague. Founder of Rekola Vítek Ježek said: “Most people usually wait until the May weather. We’ll see how it will be this year, but we plan to launch in Prague commissioning 450 bikes in total.”

This year’s bikes are made directly by Rekola – with the original frame, basket integrated in the handlebar and tubeless wheels with reflective strips to ensure good visibility at night riders. “The original frames we had to make in Europe. We have chosen individual components from manufacturers from seven countries. The result is a pimped bike that is made for urban bike sharing,” said Ježek.

This year you can buy a subscription to the entire season for 1,199 crowns. Or you can borrow bikes once which costs the same amount as a ride on public transport, 32 crowns.
