Thief Drained The Water From a Pond and Stole 2.5 Tonnes of Fish

Police in the Central Bohemian Region are searching for a thief who stole 2.5 tons of fish from a private pond.

To catch the fish, the unknown person drained the water from the pond, by breaking the wooden external wall. The thief stole about two tons of carp, 200 kg of pike perch, 100 kg of pike and 15 sturgeon.

The total amount of damage exceeded 250,000 Czk. The unusual theft occurred in the town Dobříš.

Police are not sure exactly when the theft occurred but local fishermen claim that everything happened between November 15 and 23. The perpetrator faces up to five years in prison.
