The Prague 2 City Hall has received the first two, public smart lamps.

They were inaugurated by Jan Korseska, vice-mayor of Prague 2 and Vojtěch Fried from Pražská energetika. "The idea was created last year when we were looking for ways to increase the comfort and safety of life in our city district." explained deputy mayor Jan Korska.

The useful information panel on the bottom of the lamp pole is innovative. It has an SOS button with a direct connection to line 112 in case of danger or emergency.

Both lamps are equipped with environmental sensors such as air dust, temperature, noise levels and a wi-fi connection within 50 meters.

Other smart lamps will be installed on Karlovo namesti in front of New Town Hall, on Polská and Jugoslávská streets. These lamps will function as a charging station for electric cars and electric vehicles.
