After an inspection at the airport with Interior Minister Milan Chovanec and Prague Mayor Adriana Krnačová, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka declared on Tuesday that security at Václav Havel Airport will be increased at maximum level.

After the terrorist attacks last year in Brussels and Paris, the level of warning has been increased and patrols of police and military troops have been roaming all over the city, and especially, in key sites.

Last year 187 million CZK were dedicated to the increase of security measures: for example, a facial-recognition system, which will probably be effective at the end of the year.
