Christmas markets are bustling on all major squares across Prague. Traditional Czech festive delicacies are on offer, such as, sausages, potato pancakes, roast chestnuts and mulled wine. However, the prices this year, particularly of food, varies significantly depending on the market.

At Old Town Square, a bottle of water is sold for 60 CZK, whilst at Náměstí Míru you can pay only 20 CZK for the same thing. Similarly, mulled wine will set you back 60 CZK in the Old Town Square but just 45 CZK at Náměstí Míru.

This may not come as a surprise to locals, as tourists tend to flock to the iconic Old Town Square, with its impressively tall and beautifully lit Christmas tree but tend to pay more for it.

The markets near Prague Castle are similarly priced to Old Town Square, if not more expensive! Jiřího z Poděbrad Square and Náměstí Míru are cheaper options, where you can soak up the Christmas spirit and save a few crowns.
