The 71st Prague Spring International Music Festival, which will start on May 12 and close on June 4, will offer about 50 concerts, and welcome 14 orchestras, 65 soloists and conductors and 19 chamber orchestras from 23 countries.

In addition to Prague’s Municipal House, people will also be able to hear it in the Kampa Park and in cinemas.

The opening concert takes place in the Smetana Hall, at the Municipal House. The traditional My Country by Bedřich Smetana will resound under the baton of Paavo Järvi from Estonia, conducting the Czech Philharmonic who stood at the birth of the festival, in 1946.

This edition’s specialty is the emphasis on music from the Baltic countries, together with an introduction to a three-year series focusing on music productions from Spain and Latin America, who are sending excellent representatives.
