Perhaps it is in the hope of a white Christmas? The famous Christmas market in Wenceslas Square? Or, the spectacular New Year firework show? Whatever the reason, Prague is becoming a more and more popular tourist destination for foreigners over the festive period.
Most hotels are now fully booked for the New Year and are filling up for the Christmas period too. "Prague is an increasingly popular destination for end-of-year celebrations for foreign visitors, and this year will not be an exception," said Dana Belušová of CPI Hotels.
The demographic of tourists remains the same as the rest of the year, with three quarters coming from other European countries, in particular, Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, and England. Out of the non-European guests, Americans are the largest group.
