Prague is investing approximately Kč 90 million in park and pond renovations this year. Two-thirds of the funds are for parks and one-third is for dredging ponds and building two new ones. 

Parks, gardens and public greenery in the Prague occupy some 4,465 hectares, and an additional 5,000 hectares are in forests, of which 2,900 hectares are city-owned.

Prague will build two new artificial ponds this year. The smaller pond at Hvězda will cost Kč 3 million. The larger is being built at the former floodplain of Libušský potok (Libuš Stream) in Modřany. It will cost some Kč 8 million.
