In early December, a quite controversial campaign will appear in Prague. Prague Municipality wants to warn tourists and all others about overpriced taxi rides. On one poster there’s a symbol of communism.
“These cabs are part of a museum of Communism exhibition. Want to experience the totalitarian era? Exorbitant prices for an otherwise cheap services. Be careful – or get a trustworthy car.” This is the English text on one of the posters.
“There’s an organized group that spoils the name of both Prague and all honest taxi drivers. They are robbing tourists. It is against this organized group that led the campaign, and I believe it will have results”, said Mayor Adriana Krnáčová.
The campaign will appear in Pařížská, near the main railway station, Náměstí Republiky and Karlovy lázně area.
