Traditional Christmas fireworks in Prague will be dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the emergence of the Czechoslovak state, which will be celebrated in 2018. Following the tradition, the show will be launched on January 1 at 6:00 pm in Letná. After the end of the fireworks, the national anthem will be played.
The theme of the light show was already announced: "One hundred years in the capital city of Prague". Organizers of the event want to remind the viewers not only about the emergence of an independent state but also about the latest history.
"In the 20th century, there were many significant events for the Czech and Slovak peoples. And it was Prague that witnessed most of those that are included in our history," commented Prague Mayor Adriana Krnáčová.
During the show, people will be reminded of the emergence of the Republic, the events of the May Uprising, the 1968 invasion, the revolution at the end of the 1989 and the 25th anniversary of the independent Czech Republic.
The show will last 660 seconds. During this time, residents and guests of the capital will be able to enjoy a variety of modern effects.
