A new museum dedicated to the Trabant car was opened in Prague-Motol on Sunday, May 1.

The museum was created by the Autosportklub Prague in cooperation with the car factory in Zwickau, Germany in which the Trabants were made. The exhibition shows not only the production stages of the famous Trabi (which ended in 1991)

The museum also features East Germany vintage products, toy models and equipment used by Trabi owners to evoke life in the communist Czechoslovakia. A real life reconstruction of garage with a Trabant being repared is also in the exhibition. The Trabant has seen a kind of a revival in popularity in recent years, thanks to the documentary Trabant at the End of the World, released in 2014.
