Keeping with the nature of year-end celebrations, more than 200 figures have been crafted to create a nativity scene in the Czech Republic.

In a project co-funded by the European Union, a 170-square-meter scene was created in the town of Horní Lideč as a tribute to the birth of Jesus Christ.

Nativity scenes have been an important part of religious festivities in the Czech Republic since the 16th century.
