The Poetry Periscope (known also as Poesiomat or Poetry Jukebox) was developed by Czech non-profit organization Piana na ulici and invented by cafe owner Ondrej Kobza, is going to be installed outside the British Library in London.
First installed in the Czech Republic, the Poetry Jukebox is now touring in Britain following the European Literature Festival, and will soon reach the Poetry Festival in Ledbury, the Book Fair in Durham, Brighton and Birmingham.
Poesiomat delights its users with verses of an author according to the user’s choice. The version installed in Britain is particular, since the poetry available is not only in English but also in their original wordings, recited by their respective authors.
Other “Poesiomats” are soon to be launched in Berlin, Lodz, New York and Venice.
