The first “smart” Czech bench has been installed in Litoměřice: thanks to three solar panels citizens can charge their mobile devices.
This modern bench provides also a wireless connection to the Internet and monitors the quality of the air and energy consumption. The bench was presented yesterday in the Vaclav Havel Park. The prototype was first shown to the public at the EXPO 2015 in Milan.
Eighty-five percent of the cost of 100,000 crowns was paid by the town from a subsidy provided within a program of Czech-Swiss cooperation.
The bench is made of glass, steel and wood. The surface is made of wood and has a solar panel behind.
