Registered partnership has been concluded by 2,322 couples since the passage of the law that recognised the same-sex unions ten years ago. 1525 gay and 797 lesbian couples have been officially formed since 2006.

The Constitutional Court recently cancelled the passage of the Czech legislation that stated that single adults may adopt children, but registered partners cannot.

Last week, the lower house of parliament dealt with a bill according to which people may adopt children of their registered partners.
