Italian Film Festival in Prague Starts Tomorrow

MittelCinemaFest, the central European festival of Italian filmmaking, is showing 11 films in Prague from November 30 to December 5 at Kino Lucerna.
The Mittel Cinema Fest is the largest promotion event for Italian cinema in Central Europe. The festival, promoted by Istituto Luce Cinecittà in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institutes in Budapest, Bratislava and Prague, in countries defined as emerging markets and its itinerant formula allows to optimize resources and synergies.
This year the distributors have started working on a preventive basis. Mirius Film Distribution wanted Simone Godano's 'Wife & husband' to be screened at the opening of the festival and their representative Martina Kalova announced the Czech version is scheduled for December 14. Film Europe chose 'The Place' by Paolo Genovese to seal the 2017 edition, with the non-random screening of 'Perfect Strangers', Kristyna Haklova highlighted.
According to Ambassador Aldo Amati, ''the Festival has made Italy known and recognized for what it is, beyond certain phenomena and stereotypes, for its excellence, lifestyle and even its problems''.
''The films shown at the festival - the director of the Italian Cultural Institute Giovanni Sciola added - go to Cannes and Venice.'Fortunati' by Sergio Castellitto was also screened at the Karlovy Vary Festival''.
The films will be screened in the original version with Czech and English subtitles. The entrance fee is CZK 100.
