A ban on Segways in selected parts of Prague was imposed by Prague City Hall in August but was not observed due to a lack of road signs. The first signs will be installed tomorrow at Prague Castle, on the corner between U Prašného mostu and Jelení not far from the tram stop.

The city hall regulation bans Segways in Prague 1, the New Town area of Prague 2 (much of Vinohrady is unaffected, except the Náměstí Míru area), Holešovice, Letna, Žižkov, most of Prague 4, Smíchov and the Karlín district in Prague 8. Segways are banned from pavements, cycle paths, pedestrian zones and streets.

Around 300 jobs were estimated to be affected by the ban.
