A 44-year old man was arrested when he was caught driving drunk on an ambulance in Znojmo, on Saturday, December 2.

He was stopped during an ordinary road check when there were two patients in the ambulance. Police asked the driver to take the alcometer test which found that he was driving under the influence of alcohol.

"The ambulance driver started behaving suspiciously on seeing us. Usually, we don't stop ambulances whether they are ferrying a patient or not. But the strange behavior of the driver, made us stop him and make him undergo an alcohol test," traffic police said.

The man can be sentenced to prison for up to three years.
