The six men put on black wigs and neon-green thong swimsuits, similar to those worn by the actor Sasha Baron Cohen in the film Borat, to take a picture with a sign which reads ‘I love Astana.’

They were charged with disorderly conduct and released after paying a fine of 22,500 tenge (approximately 60 euros).

The film had a mixed reception in the Kazakhstan, with some believing it to be racist and others seeing it as a PR opportunity for the nation.
