In the future, Czech Airlines’s fleet will be in leasing and not owned anymore.

After a year of contractions with Airbus, the companies have arranged a deal: Czech Airlines is going to buy only one carrier for his fleet – the model A320neo – and take other six carriers of the same model in leasing.

This, to avoid high costs and to follow a more rigid marketing line: in the last years Czech Airlines has dismissed and rationalised his fleet, choosing small carriers instead of big ones.

In fact, in 2008 the company had to face a big issue, since it bought 7 new carriers but then they got taken into the storm of the financial crisis.

Even connections have been rearranged: if first there was a major concentration of the routes towards ex Soviet Union countries, the company has now focused its destinations towards Western Europe and the Balkan area.
