The Radecký Association, a group that promotes the return of the statue is Marshal Radecký to its original place in Malostranské Square, is demanding a date be set. They are also planning a public collection to go someway to funding its restoration. Talk of its reinstatement began a couple of years ago but nothing has been agreed so far.

Václav Radecký was a Czech nobleman and military commander who fought against Napoleon for the Austrian army. In 1919, the statue was removed from Old Town Square following the outcome of the First World War. After escaping destruction, it has since been residing in the Lapidary National Museum.

"I think sculptures should connect people, not divide them," said Prague 1 Mayor Oldřich Lomecký. However, he also stated he is not strictly against the reinstatement of Radecký.
